Install an HTML email signature

A

Airmail for Mac accepts an HTML signature. Paste the code, or paste the signature as it looks in a browser.

  1. Get the signature ready

Download your HTML signature file from your company signature page. Open it in a plain text editor: Notepad on Windows, or TextEdit set to plain text on Mac (Format → Make Plain Text). Select all and copy the code.

If HTML mode is not available in Airmail, use the browser copy method instead:

Download your HTML signature file from your company signature page.

    • Open the file in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Leave Safari for this step. It can change the formatting when you copy.
    • Click the signature, select all with Ctrl+A (Windows) or Cmd+A (Mac), then copy with Ctrl+C or Cmd+C.

Copy the signature as it looks. If you paste the raw code into a normal signature box, the email will show the code instead of the design.

  2. Open the account signature settings

    1. Open Airmail → Settings (Preferences on older versions).
    2. Select Accounts.
    3. Click the settings control next to the account, then open the Signature tab.
  3. Add the signature

    1. Click + and name it Work signature.
    2. Choose HTML if that option is shown, then paste with Cmd+V.
    3. Click Save.
  4. Use it when composing

In the account’s composer options, choose whether the signature is added to new messages and replies. Send yourself a test and check the layout, links and images.

Airmail on iPhone is separate. Set the signature up on Mac first, then paste again in the iPhone app if it keeps its own signature field.
